Expanding this surgical center was both challenging and rewarding for the project team. The challenges of building a project of this type included: very limited on site storage for materials, a fast track schedule that would not disrupt the everyday operations of the hospital and a requirement for double shifts. A priority was protecting the occupied spaces from contamination while performing our work with limited noise and interruption of existing services. The advanced medical equipment and multiple medical gas systems required extensive coordination efforts with all the various trades. The project was a great success, completed on time and within budget.
