Reverse Osmosis Systems

With so many options for water treatment and filtration on the market today, it’s no wonder that many home owners have no idea where to start. After all, you primarily want to target those contaminants that are most likely to affect your family, but you also don’t want to miss anything that might pose a health risk in the future. Reverse osmosis is the pinnacle of water treatment, assuring clean, clear water— but it’s also a big investment.

If you’ve been told you can benefit from reverse osmosis water treatment or you suspect that your treatment issues can be solved by this extra layer of protection, it’s good to get advice from Orlando area reverse osmosis experts like those at Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc. (MPI). Our plumbers are all water filtration and treatment specialists and their goals are always customer safety, comfort and peace of mind.

What is Reverse Osmosis?

In a reverse osmosis system, there are two chambers of water, each with a different pressure level. These two chambers have a thin, porous membrane between them, and the key is for this membrane to be so thin that only water molecules can pass through it.

Technology has been developed that artificially creates higher pressure levels in the non-treated water than in the treated water. When softened or untreated water enters the system, it is pressurized and forced through that porous membrane. The contaminants are removed and only pure water is passed through to the other side. This is especially vital if you have your water softened, since softening adds high levels of sodium to water and is unhealthy to drink.

Choosing a Reverse Osmosis System

Choosing a reverse osmosis system depends on the size of your home’s water treatment system, how much water you need treated and the overall daily use of your system. We offer a full range of reverse osmosis water treatment solutions.
