This Sunday, March 11th is World Plumbing Day. Recognized internationally, the focus of World Plumbing Day is to celebrate and educate about safe drinking water and sufficient sanitation systems. On a global level World Plumbing Day raises awareness about the need for effective plumbing systems. Working plumbing systems and running water are often something that we take for granted. However, anyone who has had a plumbing emergency can attest to how difficult living without these amenities can be. Over 1.1 billion people do not have access to safe drinking water on a daily basis. For many people across the world effective plumbing and sanitation systems are the key to survival and public health.
World Plumbing Day is not only about raising awareness of the global need for effective plumbing, but also to celebrate the professionals who provide us with these essential services.
