Carbon filters are commonly used in combination with water softeners to successfully treat the most challenging water conditions. The system requires that a 120 volt standard outlet be available for powering the system. The Clack WS1 valve has a 5' cord with a special low voltage transformer that will plug into a standard 120 volt outlet. The system has a metering head that only backwashes when necessary for cost savings on salt.
