Who is Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc.? Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc. is a family owned and operated company offering full residential and commercial plumbing services since 1975. The owners went to Seminole County Public Schools, have resided in Seminole County for 45+ years and feel a need to give back to students of the County. Just as important, we hope to raise awareness about plumbing and its importance in society. Good luck to everyone who participates!
What is World Plumbing Day? World Plumbing Day is designed to raise awareness about the important role plumbing plays in our society. We take many things for granted such as clean drinking water, flushing toilets and showers. Many developing countries have simplistic or non-existent plumbing. Over a billion people do not have access to safe water supplies, sanitation and millions die each year from water related illnesses. World Plumbing Day is a way to highlight the important role of the plumbing industry. World Plumbing Day is an international event on March 11, initiated by the World Plumbing Council (WPC), celebrating the important role plumbing plays in protecting the health and safety of society. Contest Information and Rules: ANY Seminole County Public School student attending an elementary or middle school is eligible to participate. There will be a best design prize for middle (Grades 6-8) and elementary (Grades K-2 and 3-5) school students. Not just limited to ART students. School wide participation is encouraged. This project does not have to be done at school. It may be completed at home. Submitted posters and material become the property of Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc. and will not be returned. Only winning posters will be returned to the students. All winning posters will be photographed and posted to Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc. Facebook & website pages. In the elementary planners, we have included the contest information as well as the paper to complete the poster in the center of the planner. Your school can get supplies at Tools 4 Seminole Schools. Get your supplies while they last. Supplies include but are not limited to poster board, white drawing or construction paper, crayons, etc.
Requirements:
- Design a poster for World Plumbing Day in your own, original art work
- Must include the wording, "World Plumbing Day", and the date "March 11" visible on the front of the poster
- You may use the Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc. logo to enhance your drawing
- Use of copyright images is prohibited (i.e. Nintendo, Mario Brothers, Disney, etc.)
- For all entries, poster must be a minimum size of 11" x 17" drawing paper and a maximum of 22" x 28" poster board
- Permission form must be completely filled out and securely attached to the back of the poster
- Parent/Guardian MUST sign the form giving their permission for the student to enter the contest as well as have their picture taken and allow it to be posted to the Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc. Facebook & website pages
- Any material may be used as long as it is securely attached and fits onto the poster board/construction paper - the only limit is your imagination

* Additional check for half the prize amount may be given to the teacher who took on the initiative within the school.
When Is the Contest? The contest will begin September 1, 2023 and go thru February 28, 2024. Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc. will send a representative to each participating school to collect poster submissions February 29th & March 1st, 2024. Schools will be notified of the winners and prizes will be distributed no later than Spring Break. The winner for each school level will be posted on Modern Plumbing Industries, Inc. social media pages and www.modernpi.com/wpd by Spring Break.
